keep it and convert it. i am in the same boat as you. i love my truck and all the mods, and truly would be upset to trade her in, even for a new SD, but i love her. I am really gonna try and do a 4wd conversion before the spring time gets hot next year. if she was 4x4, i'd ride this 4.6 into the ground. She's rolling 115K and can still out run my buddies 2500 ram diesel.
If you do convert it remember the frame is the same on the 4x2 and 4x4. And just my $0.02 if your going to convert spend a little more and do the SAS it will be a lot more capable.
what are you gonna ban me for telling someone that it is cheaper to build a chevy to use as a off road truck which is true. You can build a chevy motor way cheaper than a ford motor. Yes fords last longer than chevys but if you have a good chevy and take care of it they will last longer. I KNOW THIS in my 2000 s10 I had a built 355 in it after every mud bog I did a oil change and plug change. Yes mudding WILL BREAK TRUCKS I went thru 2 trannys in that truck and 3 trans cases. I would break a tranny and go get another used one that worked fine for $250-$350. I got the built motor off a friend (it was in a camaro) for $450 if you shop around u can get a stock 305 running good for $250. Just look around you have more chevy parts running around than ford parts so they end up costing less. ford motor 302 ^302 $900 chevy small block 350 ^350 fuel injected $600
yessir i do I'm tired of his ****. I really dont wanna hear him act like he is my age when I'm just telling someone its cheaper to build a chevy I think i finally got it to where me n bigun get along better. And I'm sure if u were in my situation u would be pissed too
i didnt mean to start an argument or get anyone banned but okay i really dont see a reason for banning him he was just helping me save money possibly, and he looked like a determined member with almost 2500 posts i dont have that in all the forums combined
