With the 2011 motors out now, is it worthwhile to drop $6000+ on a superchager (and extras) in order to make ~450hp and run high 12s in a 04-08 F150?
All the time and money involved, plus the worry of the stock motor living (if your at 12+psi)...idk

I almost think it would be better to wait (and save) for a used 5.0 to come up for sale. Basic upgrades get you running 13s N/A...

Just buy an 97 cobra and soup it up if your looking for speed. Or put 6k's in your truck. 6'' lift 35's! Just my .2's

The problem is it is going to cost you a lot more than $6000 to get it right. Other mods need to be done other than the supercharger if you want to run more than 8 or 9psi, and the factory 04-08 transmissions don't like THAT much power without modification themselves. If your motor is tired (150k+ miles), thats another thing to consider.

But like the guy above said, why do you need this in a truck? If you want to go fast, get a car and drop the money there, more speed for your dollar. A truck is a truck...

Just ask Ricky about it. You end up spending more then the cost of a kit.

Hell no it's not worth it. You would benefit more by spending it on hookers and blow

    Haha that's what I figured.

I was thinking of a truck because the new mustangs are so spendy, and I'm pretty sure I could find a 5.0 truck cheaper than a new 5.0 mustang. I really like the 99-04s, and they're cheap, but have the same problem of needing a supercharger to run with a N/A 5.0...

eh, maybe I'll just get a crotch rocket and call it good :jester:

Spend $13k for a 03 cobra with a little work done. They easily put out 500rwhp with simple mods and have a fully forged bottom end. Win win
