So I had a crazy idea for some rock sliders for my truck. I'd make some rock sliders with steps welded off of them which is really common, but my idea was to then run my dual exhaust through my rock sliders and dump it out the back off them.( almost like side pipes) That way the heat from the exhaust would melt all snow/ ice off of them so they wouldn't get slick( which is problems I've had with these in AK). The only thing I was thinking is I'll have to think of a way to drop temps from in between the manifolds and new rock slide exhausts. Possibly using catalytic converters? I was planning on high temp paint so that wouldn't be a problem. I'm just kinda thinking out loud. What y'all think?
Ya I'm not sure, but it be a trick way of running exhaust that actually serves a very helpful purpose. Idk just an idea
If I could run it in a way as where it's not obvious that it's my exhaust goin through it u think it could be awesome and very handy
yea itd be slick , but think u wud have to run it under the frame rail to get it to your rockers and that wud look shatty
ya having it routed would be the problem. however once it warms up that pipe will get pretty hot...to the point where your jeans/boots will melt if you stand on them longer than just a brief second...
That's the problem I see with this design, I was thinking possibly throwing a cat in front of it might help lower heat because the cat catches alot of heat by nature of what it is. But it would be totally pointless if it got so hot that if you slipped it'd burn the crap outa you
