Well after dicking with S/C issues for the last 2 years and only being able to drive the truck about 80 miles since the swap, I took her back to stock! Found a doner truck pulled the engine and sold a bunch a crap off of it. Ended up making a little cash on the deal. Anyway, I will post pics tomorrow, but finally got the time to give her some TLC today. Washed her, cleaned the inside out, took a few graphics off and put one on. Next stop is back to the Tint Shop to get the front windows re-tinted to 20%. She sat long enough behind the shop that the mice had a hay day with her. Found a hole in the headliner where they made a nest. Found a nest under the sub with a hole chewed through the cone, found a nest behind the passenger door panel I will have to get to this spring, aggrivating to say the least, but at least she is back on the road. As for the spare S/C motor, the lower end is at the shop getting built. I am having all forged lower end with studs put in, we are going with a twisted wedge head, Stage 6 "Snake bite" Stiegie port, and estimate 700hp. Dad and I have started on a 4 seater tube chassis rock crawler and that is going to be our power plant. I have a 4R100 Auto with an NP205 divorced transfer case and a set of Dana 80/60's out of a Cummins. Gonna be a lot of fun but will be a few years in the making as we are going to take our time with it and really do our homework. Anyway... I will get pics in the AM RAIN OR SHINE! LOL
Little white is right. Now drive that truck like you stole it. Rock crawler project sounds awesome too
You name it. bad tune cost me blower motor #1, then timing chain tensioner cost me blower motor #2, then bad heads cost me blower motor#3. No thanks on the MP, I have known Steigie for a while and trust him fully. yeah this last time I bought a set of heads from a guy who said they were new. When I got it all put together I kept having oiling issues. Pulled the oil pan and found I had crap in my pickup tube. After further inspection it was silica sand. Guy must have sand blasted the heads and didn't clean the oil passages or anything and it ended up scarring the heads, bearings, oil pump. ME TOO! LOL I am still letting the motor kinda break back in. It had sat for like 3 years without running. Sounds really good now. I am VERY happy to have her back on the road. Buggy will be fun I am sure.
