So I am about to pull the trigger on this fan: SUPER 16" REVERSABLE ELECTRIC FAN 200 WATT # HC-7105 | eBay What e-fan harness/probe kit should i get for our trucks? any thoughts on the fan are welcome as well. Thanks!
will this fan controller kit work w/ our trucks? ELECTRIC FAN TEMP CONTROLLER SWITCH THERMO PROBE KIT 38 | eBay
I would go with the thread in sensor ELECTRIC FAN THERMOSTAT THREAD-IN SENSOR RELAY KIT 39 | eBay and get Flex-a-lite 32084 to screw the sensor into the cooling system like Twinskrewd did for his e-fan setup. I would also wiring in an override switch to turn the fans on, God forbid if you ever need it.
Override e-fan switch in Texas? Nawww. prolly wont ever need that. lol. I searched for his build thread but our search engine didnt bring anything up. guess i'll dig around for his link. thanks!
Here is my efan set up thread from another site. It is completly up to date. So yes do read through all of my post at the very least. Sorry but I did learn a few things as I went and corrected information as best as I could. Electric Fan Install (Pics & Vid) - F150online Forums Need to dig through this site and find my thread and make sure it's updated as well. Btw with the ebay fan, make sure of the amps. And yes do the overide switch to. This will allow you to run the fans or shut them down should your temp sensor or controller malfunction. Had a controller die once and the fans ran even with the truck off so yes it is important to be able to turn them on and off should a failure take place. Also keep in mind while doing this that you can go cheap with a controller and have heartaches or spend a little bit and have some peace.
Thanks brother! i was lookin for your install and couldnt find it in our section anywhere. i think i can afford to go big w/ the controller since i am getting such a inexpensive fan (still pulling 2300+ cfm). i'll read through your install over the weekend when i'm not at work tryin to not work.
E-fans is on my future mod list. hopefully you remember how to do it so you can help me out when i decide to do it
i've done alot of reading and research on e fans and from what i understand this guy makes the best Constant Temperature Controllers and Accessories i believe he hand builds each one to order so it could take several weeks to get it but i've heard the cheap flexalite ones from summit burn up and the last thing you want is you controller to burn up and your truck over heat
I've heard bad things about all the controllers so far... even the spendy DCC ones have been burning up recently. TwinSkrewd said it best. Wire up a separate switch so if the controller ever blows, you can still manually turn it on I think I'm going to get 2 cheap vatozone controllers for my Taurus fans. Install one and keep the other in the glovebox, along with the manual switch
