Those work pretty good. I would trust a hardwired independent gauge (meaning its not goin through the computer) over a scan gauge type deal. But monitoring temps on a tuned diesel is a little more sensitive than a gas. Hard wired gauges measure real time temps unlike your factory gauge cluster, the scan gauges run through the obd2 and are different than the factory gauges but still run through the computer. hardwired gauges are independent with they're own sensors assigned to their own "thing" ha ha.
But overall theyre great for monitoring temps and scan codes.

So to you it's not a bad investment for me? Or would I recommend the scan gauge over this?

Google some reviews on it man. I looked at the Scan Gauge, and Kiwi. The reviews werent too promising on those from what i've read.

I was just referring to the scan gauge type product itself vs hardwired gauges, gauges being an alternative to a scan gauge (and look awesome). whats nice about the scan gauges is you can pull codes and they have a wider range of temps etc that they read.. My buddy has a scangauge II in his ranger and he loves it.
