    so setting your WHOLE truck (frame and all) 4+ inches higher BEFORE your add bigger tires, give you no ground clearance? Maybe it wont add clearance for the axles, but you wont be higher centered as easy. and with an IFS, it lifts the front susp a little bit.

    if your not adding ground clearance for the axles your not adding ground clearance.

    And for the IFS yes you raise the center up but the most lowest point of your LCA is still at the same measurement to the ground.

    Nick is right. Technically, you gain nada for ground clearance with a lift because your lowest point is usually still your rear diff. or a shock tower.

    Adding taller tires adds ground clearance.

    Now see, you got your panties in a wad when I made that comment. Your allowed to bone out Dustin over a BL, but nothing negative can be said about what you have. :jester:

    What many people need to keep in mind is, to each their own. If a person wants to lift their truck with a railroad tie, fugg it, let em.

    I personally think a BL isn't a terrible idea. It allows you to put taller tires on, which in turn gives you more ground clearance. From what many of you are saying, if someone decides to throw a BL on a 5K dollar truck, it's okay, but if the truck was originally 20K+ which the majority of our trucks were, then it's a dumb idea?!?! I guess if I were to lift my truck I couldn't do a BL, my truck was 27,000K back when I bought it in 2002. :jester: :facepalm:

    Yes, what your saying is true. But how many of the guys on here are going to be straddling obstacles higher then a curb or parking block? If making room for bigger tires to add more clearence is the issue. Get to :superhack: them fenders.

    I payed 7500 cash for my truck , and it has 140k miles on it .... and ill put any kind of lift i want on it .
