I got 2 cyberdyne gauges from Summit last year when my transmission went out and have ran them for about 10 months. They function well and the price is good (~$40) but the quality is cheap... I had the bottom middle LED go out in my Trans gauge and they replaced it free under warranty. Now 2 of the middle LEDs in my Water temp gauge are out... so 189 looks like 107... I know I could exchange it for a new one, but Cyberdyne was recently bought by a larger company and I don't want to deal with it. You get what you pay for I guess...
check out the glowshifts, theyre analog and fairly priced. not as nice as the fancy ones, but they read accurate, look decent and dont break the bank.
I was looking at Autometer and Dakota Digital. For these gauges I like Digital ones. It's nice being able to see the difference between 190* vs 200* instead of just trying to remember where the needle was at...I have factory gauges for that
The GloShift Trans Temp Analog isn't bad actually... anyone know what gauges come with memory? The Cyberdyne records the high and low temps and will play them back anytime you hit the button, its kinda nice.... Autometers are great, spensive but great. glowhift has some digital gauges, looks like you can replace your setup for about 100 bucks vs 100 bucks each for autometer. they are much nicer gauges though. im just going to replace mine with autometers as they go bad since the glowshifts are so cheap. http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Blue-Digital-Gauge-Series.aspx
i have glowshifts in my truck, they're not bad. despite everyone i know advising me against them, i bought them because of the price and they haven't let me down yet, but it's only been 5 months.
Yeah, I'm not going to cheap out this time though. I'm going to get quality ones that I don't have to worry about breaking. The thing with the GloShift Digital gauges is that they have that gay gloshift sticker at the top...looks like an afterthought
Yeah, they are definitely more for function and price than looks. Ive had mine since march/april last year, the only issue i had was the led backlight went out on my boost gauge, sent it in and within 2 days I had a new one without any issues since.
