4wd issues.

    that's what I was thinking. Check them IWE solenoids. They tend to fault when they get wet, and considering your in alaska they are probably wet more than normal.

    my wifes old explorer had this problem there is a motor on the tcase that changes from 4 to 2 wheel drive and so on ......... we replaced the motor on the tcase and it fixed the problem until the tcase went out

    glad my 2wd doesnt have any of them problems haha

    maybe some seloniods broke?

    Now my truck has developed a shake as well when in 4wd. It only happens when accelerating and stops shaking between 30 and 35.

    If it's only doing it in 4wd I'd check your output shaft for play. That might be part of the engage/disengage problem too....

    I suppose this is all gonna end up being related to the leak I had in the front output shaft seal isn't it? I put bars leaks in it and it stopped the leak, I didn't have the time or money to fix it properly. Am I looking for side to side, up and down, or what sort of play?

    I would look for any sort of play. If it's wiggling at all then it'll wobble when power is going through it, which will shake the transfer case and everything that's attached...
