I agree with it being the luck of the draw. You imagine how many of these trucks are manufactured and probably 1-2% will have a hiccup. Sucks but nothing's perfect. Sent from my iSmarty 4
I don't think it has anything to do with the Ecoboost itself. From what I've read several people are having transmissions woes from their 2011-2012 F-150's regardless of which engine is in it. There's apparently an issue, but I'm not sure whether or not Ford's making it right or if they're just repairing them as they occur.
Winner. I had mine in the shop for a tranny reflash before it had 5,000 miles on it. It sounds like they haven't fixed anything even with a new transmission.
I wish our trucks just came with Allison transmissions. If I had money when mine went out, I would of put one in. Sent from my iSmarty 4
also its hard to tell how many trucks actually have tranny problems. Because when you see stuff on the internet its all gonna be people with the problems. Its not like anyone would post just saying " my tranny is great". Alot of times people join forums and stuff for help. I know stuff like this can get blown way out of porportion because on the interent youll usually only see the bad things and not the hundreds of thousands of good ones still out there. Im not syaing it doesnt suck for you but say you look it up in google 2011 f150 tranny problems, youll get page after page of people with tranny problems. Well say there are even a hunded pages of people with problems thats 100 trucks out of how many hundreds of thousands are out there. The same thing happened with the MT82 stang tranny. You only hear the bad news on the internet so i think you really gotta compare numbers before you can claim there is an aparant issue with the trucks. Just saying Hope everything gets worked out though man! oh an my dads ecoboost screw has 8k on it so far with no issues.
100 trucks with transmission problems is still 100 trucks with transmission problems and probably only scratching the surface of what's really out there. I suspect there's only a small percentage of truck owners that ever sign up for an internet forum.
Friend ECO Boost started acting up also.Took it in.They said it needed to be reflashed.Well they did that. Then about 2 months later, started acting up again, they reflashed it,again, and this time did something with the tranny and now it runs great.I guess the dealerships must no something we don't.That shop has had 7 of them like that and all have ran fine the second time around.... If you hear anything back on whats wrong with his,let us know..
I know they share the same tranny. The dealership said the trucks that they have had problems with were the ecoboost. The computer goes crazy until it learns the drivers habits. Sounds weird tho.
