Dude, DO NOT WASTE your time with a throttle body spacer. I have one in my toolbox and it does the same thing it did on my truck minus the annoying whistle. :jester:

I'll sell it right now for $20 shipped!

JWal and Josh have V8's :birgits_tiredcoffee

I thought most of y'all knew my truck was a 4.2

It's been a good motor honestly. It's got plenty of power and gets good fuel mileage. Never had anything other then the plugs, EGR and DPFE sensor replaced on it. Reliable to the max. :waytogo:

Well if your truck had the tiny 4.2L would you broadcast it? :jester:

And I thought everybody on the this forum knew throttle body spacers are a waste.

    C'mon now, A 4.6 is 281ci and a 4.2 is 256ci. Not to mention I've ran just fine with many 4.6's.

I had the choice to buy ANY engine I wanted. Keep in mind, I bought my truck brand new in 2002. I drove the 4.6 and the 4.2 and the 4.2 didn't feel a hell of a lot different. I wasn't in the market for a 5.4, I didn't want the fuel mileage honestly. So the decision for me was between the 4.6 and the 4.2. The 4.2 won because at the time Ford was running a V6 rebate of 1500.00 off the list price, plus when I bought the truck, Ford was having factory rebates of 4500.00 cash back. So I opted for the additional 1500.00 on top of the 4500.00 Ford was giving, it was a no brainer for me. I just didn't feel a HUGE amount of power difference between the 4.6 and the 4.2 to be honest, and it damn sure wasn't enough to compensate the extra 1500.00 on a truck that was listed at 27,000.00. That's 6K off before we ever started working on the sticker price. I also got another 5500.00 for my trade in. Not to mention, it's not like I'm running around in an XL F-150. My truck is a loaded XLT.
