okay guys so i got my edge cs tuner yesterday, and after updating in online and plugging it in i found that the previous owner had tuned the truck with a different product. So i hooked the tuner back to the internet and downloaded the codes i needed to return it to stock. I plugged it in and turned it to stock and then tuned it to power lv 2. I drove the truck that night and it sounded great and i really noticed a difference. But, when I got up this morning to head to school i got in the truck and noticed i had a wrench icon on my guage cluster, so i ran the code in the edge tuner and it said something like a throttle response problem? My cruise control doesn't work now and using the pedal and giving it gas seems really different and the rpms keep revving up and down. I can get the codes for y'all to tell me specifically what is wrong in a few minutes. any answers or help y'all can provide would be appreciated!
Code is: P2106- throttle actuator control system- forced limited power Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
p2106 Throttle actuator control system-Forced limited power. the tp sensor/s in your thottle body is the problem. the most common repair is to replace the thottle body, some people just replace the tp sensors. It also can be a broken wire to the injector.
Is that something that requires an immediate fix? And what would fixing this cost? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If your truck is not running right, then I would say it is in immediate fix. As for the cost, just google what a TB or TP sensors cost. also verify that all of your wires to injectors are in good condition w/ no fraying as that is an easy cheap fix if it is the culprit.
Listen to him. when these electronic throttle bodies go out....you have to replace. Brings up my question...is your truck not going into "Fail Safe" mode? If it has bad sensors in the TB it should which limits the trucks power and doesn't allow certain things like cruise control etc.....to keep from damaging the engine...and it feels like your in over drive all the time...in otherwords when you get to fourth you truck stays at high rpms and the engine shakes a little....your torque converter won't lock feeling....?
When I get the code it's usually at start up and the throttle is real sensitive and jerky until I shut the truck off and delete the code. Then it runs good
Basically what Dylan said is what's going on, cruise control works now but it seems a little more sluggish than it used to be. The code disappeared completely and I didn't clear it or anything... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
