    I love you :alone:

For diesels that are affordable (that leaves out the new 6.7 Powerstroke and the new 6.7 cummins) here's a list......

12v and 24v 5.9 Cummins power and fuel economy IMO the best of both worlds

7.3 diesel you can't beat it for a long lasting work horse but typically not a power house.

6.0 If you stud, head and delete it is a power house.Stock form it can be problamatic.

6.6 Duramax in stock form is not impressive. But with mods they are fast and pull hard. Some have the dreaded head gasket failure.

Of course I love my cummins. The low end torque is awesome. 40% less moving parts over the v8 counterparts. Has no turbo lag and has a light feel
For a big heavy duty truck.

we're looking for something in the '03+ range, ~140,000 miles, extended cab for around $10,000-12,000

seems really hard to find one that fits just what we want. What mpg's are the 6.0 and Cummins guys getting?

You will need to go with a F250 for that price range. I get 20-20mpgs on a regular basis with 6" lift and 35's. 5" exhaust, stage 2 injectors, intake and NO programmer. I've even seen up to 24mpgs a time or two. :alone:

yeah that's what I've been seeing is the DMax's around $15k for anything, Cummins vary but definitely want NBS like yours west. I'm biased towards Fords but they have the most problems associated with them

I should have said not as much turbo lag. There's always a little but it's alot less than v8 counter parts such as a 6.0 (in stock form) I guess the low end toruqe hides any lag and makes it "feel" like it's not as much.

Cummins with a 6-speed :driver: My roommate had one with 3.55s and could pull 24mpg no problem with 450hp... Having the Edge chip with 5 on the fly settings is pretty dope also.

The last 7.3s are awesome too, but its getting harder to find ones without a ton of miles on them (vs a cummins)
