im right in the middle of replacing a wheel bearing on the mustang. ive got the hub assy. off but part of the housing that goes on the back side of the bearing is stuck on the spindle. any tips on getting it off? ive got it soaking in PBlaster as we speak. i tried prying it off with screwdriver but i had no luck.
wait are u talking about a wheelbearing in the rotor not a bearing assembly? if so put the rotor hanging on the spindle and put the nut on then pull it will pull the rest out
no im talking about the bearing assembly. the rotor is off. behind the rotor is the bearing hub assembly that has the studs for the lugs on it. i have the whole thing off but the bearing seals on the back of the assembly are stuck on the spindle.
well shat. i wish i would have checked back a few minutes ago. i already put the whole thing back together. not what i wanted to do and i dont exactly feel great about putting the old assembly back on. i might ahve to wait till next week to get it apart again.
got it off. beat the hell out of it again and no luck...went to Lowes and spent $40 on a MAP torch and canister. came off in 5 minutes.
