alright so i took a look at a wiring schematic. for the 2002 is shows the grounds from battery as follows: right main chassis side member, right rear of engine and right rear of engine. this isnt how mine is set up at all. for the 2001 it shows the grounds from teh battery as follows: right side of engine on starter motor mounting bolt, right side of frame and then right side of engine compartment. this is exactly how mine is set up....kinda weird mine is an 02, must be an early model truck. since i didnt buy enough wire im going to relocate my battery ground to the frame where the other smaller 10 gauge wire comes from the starter mount bolt. just wondering if i should uprade the smaller 10 gauge wire as well. all i have left to do is the main battery ground and the engine to chassis (right side of engine compartment) ground and then the alternator power.
nah mine was odd. i have a ground wire from the back of the engine to the top of the firewall on the right side and then the cable from the battery goes all the way under the engine and back to the starter and it is grounded to the starter mount bolt, there is another wire from the starter mount bolt that goes to the frame, its a much smaller wire. i ended up just running the ground wire to the frame. the only wire i have left to do is the wire on the back of the engine to the firewall but its impossible to get back there with a socket. i think i might just ground it to the top side of the engine. by the way, i left all the old wires hooked up. did you do the same?
awesome. i was going to do the alternator wire today but i cant find an ANL fuse holder with a 250 AMP fuse anywheres. biggest i found was a 100 AMP fuse holder. ordered one from Amazon, should be here tuesday or wednesday.
