The one Dudge truck I'm a fan of get's a new look for 2013. Not too bad, I think I prefer the previous model better, but still all in all a cool truck. THIS is the one Dodge I'd roll. Too bad Ford has shat the bed and refuses to build a street truck anymore... LINK: World Exclusive (Sort of)! 2013 Ram 1500 R/T Exposed - PickupTrucks.com News I don't care for the Rambox on a "street" truck, but I do like the rear sway bar out back.
I think it's a cool truck, but they didn't go far enough with it. It would be a killer truck with a 6.4. Never been a fan of dodge/ram but I do respect a high horsepower performance truck no matter what make.
There's no other competition. There's basically 0 need for them to actually push it. No one else is building a performance street truck these days. That's most likely the reason Dodge kept with what they had. I would imagine that if Ford or Chevy were to finally pull their heads out of their asses, and decide to once again build a performance street truck, then Dodge would slap the 6.4 in the R/T. Till then, they're content with the R/T staying as it is.
I know there's no need for it, but when the raptor came out it was (still is) the only high performance Offroad truck, and they didn't stay content with the 5.4. They dropped a 6.2 for it. I guess that just shows the difference between the 2 companies and their business plans. Dodge settles for good enough, Ford strives to be more than good enough.
Yeah and no, Dodge came out swinging during the SRT vs Lightning wars. Dropping a Viper engine in the SRT was pretty extreme IMO. I wouldn't rule out the RT getting the 6.4 by this time next year. Then again, maybe they're planning on a return of the SRT Ram???
the only problem is..... ITS STILL A DODGE ! they keep fixing up the exterior, but the interior is crap
Me and my pops were talking about this the other day. He's been considering trading his 04 Lariat in on a new Dodge Regular cab. The only thing that's stopped him is the interior. The exterior looks current, then you open the door and it's like Dodge is still in 1999 on the interior design. I'll give em one thing over Ford and Chevy, AT LEAST THEY'RE BUILDING A STREET TRUCK...
