well yes and no, the CS is a step up from the evolution. You can add your tire size in and it will compensate for it and if you have the vehicle speed reading showing like i did in the picture it'll tell you your actual speed. but as far as the factory speedometer it doesn't actually change it. When my edge was showing 70 my speedometer was showing 66.
So is the CS what you would recommend? I've never used a programmer before so I'm not really sure about any of them
whatever you can afford, they all do their job. With edges you can get custom tunes though I think to actually correct the speedometer you have to take it to the dealership or buy a seperate speedometer calibrator. 4wp sells them
Custom tunes are settings that are optimal to get the best performance from your truck with the aftermarket work you have done to it. I have custom tunes and get around 15.5 mpg on average. I also have a lot of other stuff done to help MPGs, but the tunes help! J.Wal
To see what gear ratio you have you beef to jack up the rear axle. Put the truck in neutral and spin the tire one revolution and count how many times the driveshaft spins during the one revolution. Make sure to mark the driveshaft and tire so you can get a accurate count.
Here take a look at the bottom 2 calculator's and it can tell your your gear ratio. http://www.gopowerhungry.com/_calculators.shtml The trans ratio 1.00 is 3rd gear fyi. so with my truck it has 34.5" tires and 3.73 axle ratio at 55mph my rpm is 2000. Now depending on if you have the 4R70 or 4R75 you can put in .70 or .75 for the overdrive. Mine if 4R75 so at 55mph I have an rpm of 1500 and 73.4 I have an rpm of 2000 then the bottom calculator is to find your gear ratio its caluclations are done with 1:1 ratio ie 3rd gear.
