Ran across this, may have been posted before but thought it was a good read.

After reading, may be looking for a PI 4.6 to build, and after im done with emissions, drop it in.

 

Not bad. Motor wouldn't last long with that much psi though.

 

Detune to 500hp for daily use and still kick ass everyday

My thoughts exactly. A mild build, good tune and it would be a good runnin motor.

 

dang. saw on xtreme 4x4 Ian picked up a 03 L engine for 1k, then built it solid to approx $2500 I would love to pick up a long block and build one..but I dont have the tools or knowhow.

 

interesting, would have to do a lot of custom fab work though
