I'm positive you all have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for this thread, I finally got a chance to get out and work on the Mazda. So for build thread sake, the specs are: 94' Mazda b3000 4x4, twin stick, 6 inch skyjacker on 35 inch wildcat ext's, gutted interior, and a roll cage through the cab and into the bed. When I got it: My buddy had a parts ranger, a 98' he used to help rebuild his brother inlaws fx4 level 2 so he gave me 95% of the interior pieces including the dash and steering column. He was just going to chuck em'. I'm hoping to use the 98 steering column and wheel since I had to cut out most of the support to mine. My column support mounts to the firewall and the newer dash mounts to the dash subframe. So if the columns aren't interchangeable I can just fab a bracket for my column to fit the new dash. What I did is cut out the dash to fit the roll cage, I had to pull almost everything off the firewall and I would have pulled the column but I had to be able to get it out of the driveway and I didn't think I would have time to dry fit the column. Anyways, PICS! Pulled the newer steering column. Who needs a steering wheel puller?! Dry fitted How it sits now, more work soon!!! Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
I also have all new gauges, water temp, voltage, oil pressure, and tach, just need a speedo and a gas gauge and I'm set to do my custom instrument cluster. Planning on a diamond plate aluminum painted black to fit where the regular instrument cluster is, with the tack, speedo, and gas gauge in it and the other three gauges mounted somewhere on the dash, probably utilizing the ash tray area as a spot to mount some gauges. Exploder seats ftw! Those are going to go eventually. Looking for vinyl bucket seats out of an xl. The driver seat is all torn up and none of the motors work to adjust the seat and its not really in the right spot for someone tall. Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
Thanks guys! I'm gettin there! I don't plan to dd it, it's a dog with stock gears, but I'd like I like it to be pavement friendly. Mainly just custom is what I'm going for. Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
This is my third one, a little more beater-ish than my last ones. They make great wheeling rigs, and a stocker makes a great wheeler/dd. I wanna find a good 4.0 to throw in it and add some gears. Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
