I think most of its because of their warning for off road use needs to be modified from what I've heard but idk

In my own imaginary world, where. Respect for wome
this is all a bunch of BS. what does it matter what we do to our trucks in regards to emissions when we arent even government mandated to have our emissions even TESTED!!!! Just a safety inspection and never emissions. If the gov't wanted to do something, they should start there. but they wont, because then all of these "National Avg MPG Fleet" numbers would TANK and then all hell would break lose. so they are just doing what they can, w/out effecting themselves.

They're actually phasing out emissions testing here in wa. Should be gone by 2014.

They just got rid of all them in Alaska. They found out that we have more air pollution come over from China in a month than we produce in state in a year

Not to sound like a tree hugger but most of these systems work pretty well now when the trucks are used the way they're designed, they're there for a reason. Something needs to be done(and the US cant be the only ones trying to do something about it)and if your going to make a dent in greenhouse gas your two biggest targets are energy stations and the highway transportation industry. (the EPA standards for power plant emmisions is what really piss me off not to mention them trying to shut down fracking while they are slowly killing the coal industry...)
IMO a lot of people are yanking these off for the wrong reason and to me sound almost selfish when they have the audacity to say I'm helping the environment by saving fuel (these new diesel engines are running more efficiently, have more power and are cleaner then any engine ever put in a pick up)

On the other side this I a huge blow to the sport if diesel performance. Our '09 6.7 Cummins with a mini maxx along with a few other go fast parts is by far my favorite vehicle I have ever driven.

I have mixed feelings on this, I'm certainly not happy about it but I feel that a lot of people are mad about it for the wrong reason. It was a matter of time till something like this happened and I can only imagine it will just be a small bump in the road.
