Keyless Entry

    Is there anyway to find out if your truck came equipped with keyless entry? I was gonna buy a new remote but I have no idea if my truck is epuipped for it. Its a 97 F-150 XLT 4x4 Ext Cab Flareside I know when you lock the doors the left light comes on so that's why I was figuring it came with it and the remote has just been lost.

    If it has power locks its more than likely it did. There were very few vehicles that had power locks without a keyless entry. Just head over to the dealer, and have your check book ready.....

    I found some on eBay pretty reasonable they said once you purchase it they will send the programming code.

    I've read that the 97 is different than the 98 if anyone that has a 97 could post the FCC code on the back of their remote it would help me out so I know I'm getting the right one.

    I have one at the hunting camp that I use for a truck....if you don't find out before I get back up there in a couple of weeks I will grab it for you.

    Looks like they're all the GQ43VT4T I did do the programming process and my truck went into programming mode so I guess its equipped with keyless entry and I found a grey module under the dash drivers side bolted to the firewall.
