I can handle the actual retro install but will need your help in baking/opening all the headlamps. I've tried on my old truck and could never get them to open even after multiple bakes.

Lol ok? Sorry my lights aren't up to par with your high class hid standards...

And opening the lights is the easy part, I figured the retrofit would be the hard part

Lol, I'm just saying, you get what you pay for. Buy cheap crappy lights, and they will be bad.
If you had bought quality stuff you wouldn't have 2 different coloured bulbs, and ballasts that actually worked.

thats easy to me. i think between you baking and me retro-ing, we can knock out both sets in one day, include PTM DSG mine. so let me see if I can find one of these 20% off coupons and we can order both at the same time. it will give me some time to read over everything in depth, but I've read a few write-ups and it doesnt seem to be out of my comfort zone. lemme know if/when you wanna spend some coin.

just need to find a 20% off coupon to make this worth it. and yes, I have decided to go w/ a 3" lens instead of the standard 2.5" since I am putting it in such a HUGE housing already.

I don't think I've heard of a "quality" hid kit, they all have problems regardless, ballasts go out, bulbs don't match, light output is worst than a halogen. Which has me strongly considering retrofits.

Vano you really think you could do it? I wouldn't mind getting a set from sick hids or the place 2012fx4 got his from lol. Not that I don't think you can but you know how mods go, break one piece or mess one thing up and there goes your headlights

I really think I could. and for what everyone wants for a set of SD projectors, I could mess up 2 sets of headlamps and still be lower than their builds. its all about trimming your inside reflector to fit the new projector properly, and remember, its easy to keep trimming, but its hard to put it back on. just gonna take my time. I am ordering a set of eBay "harley" headlamps just for the tinted plastic and to still be able to use my truck if this takes more than 1 day/weekend.

the hardest part w/ doing a retro is making sure you have your headlamps set level as they would be on the truck, off the truck, so that you can properly align the cutoff lines. THIS is the hardest, but again, if you take your time it is doable. I am definitely gonna order a retro set in a couple weeks.
