Truck got busted into last night, alarm advice?

So last night someone punched the lock on my drivers door while my buddy and i were in the gym If y'all remember i 'punch proofed' my passenger door but never did my drivers side. None of my stuff got taken, but my buddies iPhone 5 and his wallet was taken, I just assume my truck will get broken in to, so I always put my stuff somewhere that's not obvious. We are going to start using a locker though. Pisses me off, I'm out bustin my ass all day at work, and some a hole effs up my property, and steals stuff.

Anyway, I've been thinking about getting an alarm for quite some time, and now i think my paranoia is at its max. Does any one have any suggestions? I'd like it to have the remote on the key fob that lets me know if the alarm is set off, I'm always on a budget ha ha, but a remote start would be cool, I'm not sure how that works with a diesel and havin to glow it.

Do most alarms get rid o the stock key fob? Meaning, I won't have 2 of them on my key chain.

sorry to hear sir, that kind of s hit pisses me off. its happened to me too many times. i cant remember what brand mine is but it has a pager on it so if the alarm goes off it gives me a heads up. has a mile range on it, door lock / cracked glass / open hood sensor and it comes with remote start as well. best purchase i have done

 

i believe the Viper series will remove the factory FOB and allow the Viper remote to do everything. I am not sure of other alarm systems. Viper 5901 is the way to go.

Yeah, this is the first for me, probably not the last, i was lucky I didn't have anything valuable in there.

That's why I think an alarm or a deterrent of some kind would be a good investment.

I have a Clifford 2way then it's on a cell so I can do everything through my phone.
