Well I got an edge evo for christmas and installed it and uploaded it according to the instructions. So i put it on the level 2 setting and filled up with mid grade gas, like it called for. I didnt do the custom tune, just the evo's level 2 tune. So when i drive down the road, about 55mph, get in overdrive with the converter locked, I let off the gas and went right back on the gas, and the transmission shuttered kinda bad. Like it downshifted or something. But it didnt down shift. It does it every time. I put the stock tune back on and the problem stopped. I even put the level 1 tune on, and it doesnt do it on that either. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, And when i let off the gas for a few seconds before going back on, it wont shutter. Only when i let off and immediately go back on it will shutter.
Your torque converter is going out. If your under 60k miles warranty will cover it. The Edge just exposed the issue sent from my igloo
Tow mode aka level 2 will use the tranny to slow the truck down at high speeds. Thats part of the design for level 2. Its programmed to think you are towing so its using the truck to slow itself down. sent from area 51
I'll be praying that it's not my converter going out. But if it's not, and it's doing what Iowaredneck is saying, is there a setting i can adjust to help it get smoother or something?
Yup use level 1 and customize your shift points and such. It will always do the slow down on level 2 sent from area 51
I did, It doesn't do it with the stock tune. Or the level 1 tune. I've got it on level 1 now, So i'll just keep it there I guess. Does it do anything like that on the level 3 tune? No, I haven't done it due to premium gas prices, ha.
Glad it worked out for you. Level 3 should do it either but thats some expensive gas to be throwing down all the time. Play with the customization setting s and find the set up you like. sent from area 51
