Depends. Can you afford something new, and will you be happy with it? Or do you value you truck too much to sell it? Either way you look at it, it has pro's/con's.

Since i have some rusty trucks; And am in your same/similar situation. My lowered truck, i've loved since i first saw it. I plan to keep it. Rab on the other hand, i wouldnt mind selling it but dont have too. I like not having a monthly bill, but then again want a truck that I can put money into and not regret it. Mods arent cheap, and im at the point where the money would be better off going at a new truck, or the SCab.

i say since you already started fixing rust, you might as well finish the job and make it like new. If you can afford a newer truck then go for that too. it'd be cheaper of course to fix the rust. and if you do look for a newer truck, what's the chance of it having rust and putting you through the same situation  i think your best bet is to light the truck on fire and move down to texas

if i get rid of it itll be hard for sure. id like an F250 diesel.

the majority of the cab is solid underneath. the spots where the rust holes are arent really big. maybe a 2.5" oblong hole. im sure i can patch it up with some new metal. its just that im not the best at the body work stuff yet. i still struggle with burn through.

i redid the whole bed, looks great and should last a loooong time with all that por-15 on it. the amount of work i have put into the truck also makes it hard to let go.

the body itself is in great condition. the paint shines and has hardly any flaws with the exception of the passenger rear door and the tailgate. the frame is still in great condition. the suspension and such have no problems. engine is still running good.

i guess i could let the floor continue to rust out until i can afford to put a new floor in it OR i could patch it up OR find a whole new cab.

hahahaha! almost lit it on fire last week, not doing that again dude:lol2:

being in michigan youre right on that man. could end up buying a truck with more rust than mine. mine aint all that bad just a few select spots.

i guess what im really worried about is it getting worse since im not going to have much time to fix it when i start work.

how the hell would i patch these holes up?

just throw some sheet metal over it  and burn through could either be from you running too hot or having your wire feed speed too high. if you still burn through then it's the operator not the machine :lol2:

    lol thanks dude.

ive got the speed down to 7 and the temp at the lowest. i think it could be due to weak metal. maybe i should have cut more out where i welded the new piece in place.

where the two new holes i found is right where there was some heat shield for the exhaust. its like a pad with aluminum under it stuck to the bottom of the body. thats the reason it rusted out. that ****en **** was holding moisture in. i pulled that **** off. i made the holes as big as i could with my fingers, rust didnt go too far which is kinda good. still sucks balls though.

    heres the two holes.

i already took por-15 and coated the **** out of the bottom of the cab on that side lol. i was so pissed when i found the holes. i took a wire brush to the rusted spots and cleaned all the rust off. after i did that it looked pretty clean.
