Ok I could be totally wrong but I saw a 460 page where they tell you combos that get such and such horsepower, http://www.460ford.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119213.
That list is pretty good, it's basically the exact thing we've been telling you... A basic rebuild is gonna cost 2-2500 an the performance stuff is gonna cost extra
Haha good luck with your build kid, you aren't listening to anything anyone is saying. People who actually have experience, I spend 8 hrs a days working and building these older cars an motors. But good luck to you and have fun with your motor that lasts about a month.
Can you pm me and help me out because everything you are saying just Isn't making sense and contradicts everything else I have read.
To get a solid 450 hp 460 is gonna need some work an parts. Sure throwing a cam in there and running it to 7k rpm can do it, is that street able not one bit. To build a street monster that's making 450 hp and the same if not more torque at around 4000-5000 rpm is much more street able and reliable. Heads, cam, and a solid rebuild and you can get there. With good heads and cam you can get 450-500 hp but in an rpm range that you can actually use for the street.
Yes, high rpms can make big power but high rpms wear on stuff and to maintain hi rpm power you need very high dollar parts
