Torque, torque is the straight up pull you out of the hole power you want at lower rpms. 460 can make gobs of it. To be honest I could go on an on helping you but I think it might be a little easier to check this out first then get back to here with questions. That's what I'm saying, I see people all the time with no experience expect huge numbers because they saw or read this but none of them have real world experience. The dyno will break many hearts

You come and tell me it won't work, tell me this will happen and stuff but you don't tell me why I need to or what I need to do to the rear end, trans etc to be able to fit this. So edelbrock or tfs heads would be good to look into, then I need to bore and stroke. So I'll back away from all this because everything I see and set my hopes on is wrong. So I know. With a 3 grand budget, what could I get if I have to upgrade trans, axle then the motor?
For a 3 grand budget, get it rebuilt. get and intake, cam, carb and a shift kit for the trans and have someone rebuild the 8.8. That'll put you at around 400ish crank. C6 will be able to hold that for a while and will be a fun driver
Nope, heads would be a big gain in hp down the road and you could go with a more aggressive cam an intake. Edelbrock performer rpm would be a good starter can
