Torque, torque is the straight up pull you out of the hole power you want at lower rpms. 460 can make gobs of it. To be honest I could go on an on helping you but I think it might be a little easier to check this out first then get back to here with questions. It'll help kind of pin point your needs and questions or if you need help understanding something post back

Ain't gonna happen.. Gotta remember if you build the engine to make 400+ your gonna pop transmissions like candy..

And the 8.8" rear will pop quicker than a 3 dollar whore.. Mines about to pop and I don't have a ton of torque...

That's what I'm saying, I see people all the time with no experience expect huge numbers because they saw or read this but none of them have real world experience. The dyno will break many hearts

I'll read that and let you know. I like your comments about me! You come and tell me it won't work, tell me this will happen and stuff but you don't tell me why I need to or what I need to do to the rear end, trans etc to be able to fit this. So as my truck sits, how much can we get out of it because your knowledge helps a lot. In sorry I'm not a mechanic who magically knows all holy grail information when I'm 16 and reading things on the Internet- where you go to learn now days- would you recommend a book I could read on this subject? I actually really want to learn about this subject but its hard to do when I read one place and then I hear from you everything I've basically read is wrong. Help me so you don't have to keep making me sound and notify everyone I. The forum that I am not knowledgable on this subject.

So edelbrock or tfs heads would be good to look into, then I need to bore and stroke. So I'll back away from all this because everything I see and set my hopes on is wrong. So I know. With a 3 grand budget, what could I get if I have to upgrade trans, axle then the motor?

For a 3 grand budget, get it rebuilt. get and intake, cam, carb and a shift kit for the trans and have someone rebuild the 8.8.
That'll put you at around 400ish crank. C6 will be able to hold that for a while and will be a fun driver

Alright. Then later would it be hard to get more power from it?

Nope, heads would be a big gain in hp down the road and you could go with a more aggressive cam an intake.
Edelbrock performer rpm would be a good starter can
