Alright so I got some KC lights for cheap and my piaas were trashed even after attempting to fix them. Soo I wired em up and threw em in the valence. Here's the problem, I think they are higher watts than the piaas and my fuse (#27 in cab) blew when I went to turn them on. I wired the first one up and it lit up so I moved on to the second one. Can I use a higher amp fuse or should I just wire to a switch....
Don't use a higher fuse, the wires may not be able to take it and you can catch everything on fire. Here are a couple threads on wiring auxiliary lights http://www.fordfullsize.com/forum/f67/how-wire-offroad-lights-into-high-beam-4399/ http://www.fordfullsize.com/forum/f74/aux-light-question-10126/
They are wired exactly like my piaas were wired up. I think because they put out more light its drawing too much power through the factory wires. I'm gonna replace the fuse and see if it blows again.
So if I put in a 5A fuse it blows... if I put in a 10A fuse my headlights come on while my headlight is in the "parking light" position. Fog lights didn't come on once. I hate electricity....
I should have been more specific... they are wired into my factory fog light harness. I just think they want more power than the wiring is allowing them. Ill end up using a switch probably.
