Yea but IMO if you were spending even that large enough amount find some c heads that'll actually flow, the heads would be nice regardless but c heads are far better

Yeah I know. C heads are hard to find around here though

So a guy on another forum was telling me that short tube headers would be better than longtubes with this build. Is he full of it? Or am I....

He's full of it, long tubes flow better in everyway, the only reason people use shorties is for clearance

    Third consecutive post here... lol

Just talked to the machinist. He seems like a real cool guy very open to anything and everything. He said I should shoot for a 10:1 compression ratio and go with some mahle pistons thatll keep me in that range.. He can get me a deal on top seal rings but he said im better off buying the pistons and bearings online so i dont have to deal with their sales tax. Gonna wait to see if he thinks i need to bore or hone the cylinders. ARP head bolts will be fine, he said studs arent really needed if im staying n/a (which I prob will) Basically hes gonna tell me what i should buy online and ill just bring them into the shop. I'm gonna drop off the block, crank, rods tomorrow for him to get started, but its not his top priority so it might be a waiting game for a little while which I'm fine with. I just want to get something done to this thing!! :jester:

.020 overbore is standard for a modular I'd have it bored no matter what that way the cyl's are round and true again.. Engine will last MUCH longer that way...

Standard for any motor not just modular, but I agree. You should bore it, no point spending money on it if you don't

Alright awesome. Ill have to keep that in mind. He said he's done a v10 before with over 300k miles with damn near perfect cylinder walls and since this block only has 125k miles he thinks it might not be necessary.

Walls may look good and measurement may be decent but it's still gonna be a slight oval the way he piston runs up and down with side forces..
