2015 PowerStroke 6.7

Whoo! Looks like Ford is upping the stakes when the 2015 SuperDuty is available. They've upgraded the turbos, injectors, fuel pump, frame, brakes and some other goodies on the F-350 and F-450. It may be time to throw in the towel and trade in my Ram 1500 for one of these beasts. I'm looking forward to seeing more competitive videos when they're available. Ford hasn't released any details just yet but if they have finally put in an adequate exhaust brake then I might have to say goodbye to Dodge.

I've been following the PowerStroke forums for quite a while. Some guys have blown motors and have had issues despite having bone stock trucks that aren't overworked. Some of the key issues have been turbo failures due to excessive idling. Regarding the upgrades, a lot of guys running "hot" tunes ending blowing motors because of fuelling issues. To me, 800lb-ft of torque is plenty so I'd pretty much keep it stock. The problem is the pricing on one of these trucks is basically my gross annual income. Ford better make it right if I'm going to trade my Ram 1500 in for one of these.

 

7.3 is the still the best ford diesel motor ever made imo. Still can't wait to see the new superduty's though.

 

The only thing that kills me about the newer diesels is the DEF.
Otherwise this looks like a great combination of power, performance
and longevity of parts in a SuperDuty chassis.

^AND If you run out of DEF...it goes into emergency crawl mode and limps home.

 

Yeah, they have DEF and some of the new diesels have SCR. It's all this emissions related bulls**t. A coal burning power plant creates more toxic pollution in one year than 100,000 highway tractors do in 3 years. It's a bunch of government bulls**t and a bunch of tree hugging hippie bulls**t.

Anyone who can get their hands on an earlier diesel motor with the 7.3 and a rebuilt 6.0 will have no issues and easy maintenance. One of the things that turn me off about modern diesels, whether it be a PowerStroke, Cummins or DuraMax is that they all have this tree hugging bulls**t that prevents us from enjoying our vehicles. Damn brothers, when will it end?

If I were to ever get a diesel which I'm not it would be an 05-07 6.0. But I'm such a damn f150 fanboy. I don't think I'll ever not have one lol

 

I'll own a diesel...... someday soon. I'm a f250 fan boy though. haha
