Ok, so I love my new to me 88 dually with the full size cab. However, I must admit that the interior, while spacious, isn't as luxurious as the newer vehicles on the road today. So I am wondering if anyone has any experience swapping out interiors with a newer F-series. I know that my old 81 Camaro would have received the interior from a fourth gen (90's model) perfectly with the only noticeable difference being a small gap on the edges of the dash, which could easily be disguised, the center console, and seats basically bolt in too. i'm hoping someone could tell me the same thing could be done with my truck. Any chance? Or am i out of luck?

I've seen someone swap front and rear seats and center consoles from a superduty king ranch into an 80s bronco. But no pics or info on the actual process. I'm fairly positive it's not a direct fit but if you're handy with a welder and a drill I'm sure it can be done ha ha. Sent from My Porcelain Throne using Tapatalk
Anything is possible, but it sounds like a lot of time and money. Which I guess is the same. Why not just update what you have, instead of buying a complete interior and trying to make it fit? I have a 2011 Raptor, and have never liked the interior. I have plans to paint/hydro-dip trim, add more leather, and some additional lighting. Right now, I'm just getting ideas, and saving my $.
Well I was hoping to hear better news. lol I'm really not interested in doing a crapload of modifications to fit a different interior into the truck, and although the 92-96 seems like it'll be an easy fit, it's not much different than what I've already got. I do plan to, at the very least, replace the seats- they're just worn out. Besides, Id rather have a bench up front, too. So it looks i'll just have to work on polishing, painting, cleaning, and just learning to accept whats already there. On the other hand, i know that the floorboards, and back bottom corners of my cab are dealing with a fair amount of rust. The floorboards are the worst, and are really starting to rot along the doors, just inside of the jambs. Bad enough that the two back seat belts are no longer usable. So I'm gonna have to consider my options there. Do I just clean it all up and weld in new sheet metal, or can i do a cab swap once warm weather returns. And of course, this makes me wonder just how closely the other generations follow this same body lines. I'd like to open my options up here since I don't expect I'll have a whole lot of luck finding a replacement 4 door cab for a vehicle this old. If a newer cab will bolt on and match up with the beds curves and lines, then I'd just replace the cab, fenders, hood and grill all in one swap (while taking time to clean up the frame and such), and then I'll have an updated interior as well. Can anyone offer me advice on this idea? Thanks for all the info!!!!
Get the replacement pieces from LMC truck and have them welded up. Quicker and easier with less headaches than a cab swap. sent from my igloo
Just for reference though a 92-96 cab will bolt up and match the bed and fenders fine... you could also swap the front clip Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2!
I also have an 88 dually and have installed a seat from a 96. It is a 40 20 40 with center console and fold down center seat. No drilling or fuss, the bolts line right up. The seats, doors and trim is interchangeable from 80 through to 96. My int. is made up of 4 different trucks from different ages. Remember, if you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical!
