Being 20k miles into my 295/70/17 Trail Grapplers - which I love - I got a stupidly-good price on a set of used 315/70/17 Duratracs.

Too much tire? Probably. New tires - less than 5k miles on them - for less than $200 each? Hard to pass up. Seeing the larger tires makes me want to pursue a body lift

At full lock I have about 1/2" of clearance; gonna need some trimming for sure.

I gave my Nittos to my Ex-wife; her leveled 02 SCrew pictured along-side for size comparison.

Yea that Expedition is sweet. A lift would definitely look good.

Thank you! Nice to see another Michiganer here!

I used to live in LA, too! (Lower Alabama). I lived in Enterprise though, across the state from you.

The only real lift option I have is about $4000-5000 from Rize industries. Just can't swing that kind of coin - especially considering I could get a dedicated trail rig for that money.

If I can sell my house though, I think i'll keep back some of the profits for that lift. :)

Until then, maybe I'll see if I can get a shop to figure out a body lift.

Thanks Thomas! My ex's truck previously had 285/70/17 BFGs...not AT's...a more highway-suited version. They worked well, but I got tired of the truck looking wimpy. :)

Funny to me how much smaller the nittos look than the duratracs. I thought the nittos looked great on my expy - but since adding the winch bumper I opened up a lot of space especially up front. While a tad too big, the duratracs do a much better job there.

On a previous vehicle - 02 Wrangler - I had 35" duratracs and just LOVED them. Was super impressed. Hope that continues! Now...to go wheelin'!

Nice. I've never been there. That a lot for a lift but I know the feeling. The lift I want for my jeep is about that price. And it's only a 3.5" lift. Lol. Your expedition would make a great camping rig especially with a small lift and some rock sliders and skid plates.

Yessir, Dave. I've been building sleeping platforms inside; working storage and stuff. The lift I can get is an 8" lift - so there's a lot for the money...money. gawd. Yuk. It's more and more, eh? :) Love your jeep, by the way.

As far as sliders - I've been looking for sliders for a SuperCrew F150 - but anything I get I'll have to get custom mounts made. Same with skid plates.

Now - as frustrating as it is for a low-demand 4wheeler like my Expy, I loved being at the sand dunes last week and having the only one there :)

Oh Yea that's a whole lot of lift but would look awesome. I need to start building some storage for mine. For sliders, building your own it having done custom made is the best idea anyways. And having them frame mounted is the best since that's the strongest way to mount them. Thank you, I still have a long way to go. The dunes sounds like it would be a blast.
