coil overs cost over twice what I paid for the car haha. probably going to go with H&R springs. lower it like an inch and call it good. roads up here suck man. this car will already be like a snowplow in the winter (insert comment about already having a snowplow about my mustangs chin spoiler here haha)
So I got all my transmission stuff an torque converter but my brothers 5.3 in his tahoe bit the bullet so Im gonna help him out and pull the motor, send it off to get it machined and then build the motor an drop it in. Its a pretty crappie situation for him, from 99-06 gm issued a tsb that they're heads can have casting issues and they crack. Yea it's super common and it's bs. Gm won't do anything besides say hey we have a huge issue but good luck. So both of his heads are cracked, the dex cool reacts with oil to build like solid sludge, clogged all the passages an oil pump. I'll post a few pics of how the internals looked. Going to be boring it, decking it, crank grinded, full rebuild, new pistons, bearings, cam, new heads, complete build.
Black as night. How many miles on that thing? My buddy has a 96 5.7 and the things got 215k with no issues. Its funny when the chevy guys talk **** on ford sparkplugs when they cant even keep their oil away from the coolant lol
