The wife picked up a nail the other day, went right up the sidewall so it wasn't fixable, tires were on the wear strips anyway so I hit the craigslist machine. Within a couple of hours I had some 09' f150 lariat 18" inch rims and tires with 75%-80% tread on them (275 70 18s) in the back of my truck. I hauled them all to discount and swapped the tpms sensors into the new wheels. I'm only in to it $330! Better than $900 for new tires on regular 17's. I'll probably make like $50 back on selling the 17's.

These tires are about half an inch wider and an inch taller than the old ones. I'm pretty happy with the look.

What made you decide to get with new wheels and not just new tires?

    New tires- $900
Factory take offs- $200+$130 for swapping tpms/rebalancing. Always looking to save a few bucks ha ha.

Plus I like the look of the 18s over the factory Eddie Bauer 17s. The 05s don't come with 18s from the factory and I like to be a little different. The tires are also a tad bigger so it fills out the wheel wells a little more.
