New guy to this forum with 2000 f150

Just did my ball joints tie rod ends and UCAs a few weeks ago. I went with all Moog parts. Then a few days ago I blew out a front shock, they are all the original ones tho and are starting to ride like crap. So I ordered 2 KYB monomax shocks for the front and they should be here today. I'll order the rears in a few weeks, then a few weeks after that I'm gonna switch over to expedition front breaks and get all new pads since they need to be replaced too

 

I put the monomaxs on the front today they ride soooo much better. They are a little firm but that's what I wanted. When I pulled the front drivers side shock off I fully compressed it by hand and then it never decompressed I'll get the rear ones soon.

 

Wow little compression and no rebound.
Must have been a fight driving that down the road.

Oh it was terrible if I hit a small bump or something at like 45 mph or faster the rear end would try to swing and and the front would be all over the place. It's alot better now. The rears are still bad but they arnt as bad as the fronts were

 

Anyone have any recommendations for break pads? Or are all ceramics pretty much the same?

 

Hawk pads are good. Ebc have been the best I've had for my sd. My brakes are picky though, if I cheap out they don't last, my trucks just too massive. Basically, you get what you pay for.

I think my rotors are fine, but what are yalls opinions on slotted and cross drilled rotors?

 

Unless you go big brand, don't waste your money. Powerslot and ebc are worth it. I had ebcs for a long time and I got my money's worth. I switched to a cheap brand (powerstop) and they didn't make it 6000 miles before warping. I have centric solid rotors now and they've been just fine at about half the cost of a good drilled and slotted rotor. I still have ebc green stuff pads though so that might help. Make sure you have your rotors machined if you don't replace them. It'll make those pads last longer and stay quiet.

Thanks ill probably just get some ebc pads and get my rotors machined. I may upgrade to braided lines
