Got a 2009 F150 4x4 extended cab w 8 ft bed and max tow package. Original BFG Rugged Trail tires have 78,000 miles and need to be finally replaced.
Tires on there now are LT245/75R17 121/118R M+S

I use the truck primarily on the highway although i am moving to AZ next month and will probably spend more time off road.

I have been happy w the factory tires. Quiet ride and good solid traction. I investigated buying the same tire and read about problems w that tire recently related to cracking on Nissan vehicles......so the question is, is there a problem w the BFG??? And what should i buy for my truck and why??

    TIA

Check out my build thread for mods for your truck.

I like on Hankooks, but Toyo and Nitto are good as well.
If you want to stick with BFG, check out their new R/T tires.

2nd set of tires were BFG L/T on the wife's Mazda
and had 80K on them with more tread left but
the side wall to tread area was starting to
get checked and separated, not bad for
    9 year old tires.

What have you decided? Brother here got second of Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2, got 70k in first set while second has around 60k and could get at least 20k more, both for on-road and occasionally off-road use.

Went w the Michelin LTX MS tires...lots of money but hopefully worth it. I take care of my vehicles and keep them 12-15 years.....so hopefully these will be good til them.
