What's the largest tire I can put in a stock limited 4wd excursion. Wondering if 305/70/16 will fit

I see some others getting the 305 in there
    and a 315 with a 2" level and added 2 leaf
    in the rear.

I know someone who put 315 75 16s on their stock 7.3 excursion. They had aftermarket wheels though with more of a negative offset.

What tire are you looking at? Most ATs fit better than MTs because of the mud lugs. A 305/70R16 should fit fine, 315s will rub on factory rims.

Another option is 295/75R16s, a little narrower but taller. 32.8x12 vs 33.4x11.6

a 315/75r16 is a 34.6x 12.4 and that seems way too big and wide for a stock vehicle with a narrow wheel. a 285/75r16 (33x11.2) is a safe bet IMO but a 295/75r16 would be a squeeze without a level

Technically yes, they'll fit. Buy you're going to be hard pressed to find a shop to mount up a 305 (12") wide tire on a 7" rim. A 295 would fit much better.

If you really want the 305s, you'll probably have to get new rims that are at least 9" wide.

I see a lot of reviews with people saying 305 fit. My thing is they're larger than 295 and cheaper to
