UPDATE!!!! Finally had some time to mess around with it and I kinda got it running now. I got the ignition fixed it ended up being the coil but as soon as I got spark I was missing fuel now which ended up being an easy fix the 20a fuse had blown so after replacing and getting it running I know have a new mystery to chase down. After I drive it for a few mins anytime I come to a stop it dies. Any ideas? I've been doing a little digging on Google and I'm thinking TPS or coolant temp sensor are bad. I'm in the process now of taking the tb and IAC valve off so i can clean and degrease them along with checking all the vac lines Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Good to hear you are getting problems fixed on it @rmsawyer73 I would think IAC on the it won't idle at a stop. Could be TPS, does it idle good when first starting it ? On a coolant temp sensor failure when warm, the engine stops when the sensor warms up to operating temperature. Not always as the sensor is going bad and it may work and not work intermittently. I have fixed Chevy engines with this temp sensor problem, engine dies after warm up. The vacuum leak is a good place to look as this could be another source of your engine dies when coming to a stop.
Ya it starts up and idles great then once it starts warming up the stalling starts and continues to get worse but it still idles fine. It seems like it's just the transition from throttle to no throttle that bogs it down which makes me think TPS. I just pick up the parts today and will start digging into it this weekend and I'll be sure to keep you guys updated so at the very least if someone has the same issue in the future they will be able to fix it quickly. If it still idles fine the IAC shouldn't be the problem but wouldn't hurt to clean the port, don't forget a gasket unless you can save the old one. Hope the TPS is the fix, wouldn't hurt to throw a fuel filter at it unless you already did.
Ya I don't think it's is either but better be safe than sorry and I haven't replaced it yet but I'm going to do a full tune up (fuel filter, plugs, wires, intake filter and replace the front tank cause it has a rust hole in the top of it ) while I'm in there anyways Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
So update I took off the TB used a full can of carb cleaner while I took a wire brush and cleaned the entire thing. Then I replaced the TPS and IAC valve and now it runs great so I'm thinking the TPS was the culprit. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
