I've been told either of these motors were Ford's best of the best (aside the 7.3 diesel). So since we know know Ford has invented perfection, what about their predecessors. I am looking for a BIG gas motor. What are my best options? Is the a problem with the 5.4 motor? Is there a larger option? When did the 6.2 become available, 2011? I want to tow a 2005 26' Keystone travel trailer with no slides, weight unknown.
My current puller, a 2002 Dodge Quad Cab Gas 5.9, handles flatland very easily. I want to be able to pull into the high country. I have thought seriously about the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost. I drive one for work and enjoy its takeoff ability, I just wonder about its pulling ability.

    Thanks

Is a 2020 with the 7.3 gasser out of the question?

I would go with a 6.2 if you are dead set on gas. While the 5.4 did get better as the years went on, it was still pretty gutless at the end.

I am nearing the end of my working career and am trying to cut down on expenses. I drive an ecoboost 3.5 F150 for work and my supervisor pulls a 30' 5th wheel travel trailer with his 3.5 ecoboost.
