its gonna be. i cant wait to start it haha. i would build the bedcover tomoroww but i never get off work till after dark and our barn dont have electricity
thats good to know, my plan is the factory ford controller from delta current controllers and a factory dual fan setup from a taurus, also thinking UD pulleys to go along with it interesting idea, i'm yet to re-check mine was getting 14.5 stock w/ tonneau, now its got a rebuilt front end, CAI, catback, tuneup, and toolbox w/ soft cover
Mine is a 02 and dunno the gear size. I think 3.55. It dont matter that I have a 4.6. Your truck should get good mileage becasue you have a bigger motor. Sounds weird, I know.. With the bigger motor, it doesnt have to work as hard as mine to get to speed. Yeah, mine does have the better flowing heads and intake.
I dunno that I would do the UD pullies with the taurus fans. They draw a chit ton of amps at start up and just running. I am running dual speed, dual fan setup from a dodge intrepid. I have no cooling issues or ac issues. They have been on the truck over 2 years.
yea your right about the big motor. but i honestly dont know what will happen once i get everything done. i may be let down and only get my stocker mpg of 15 but hopefully its close to 20. and if it is i wont be puttin my 35s back on till i get a new dd lol. i may try e fans on down the road closer to summer
I dont care what anyone says. I would do that mod all over again before any of them...lol I have them on the ford and both of my s10s.
Oh I also forgot to tell you, if u run a dual speed taurus fan, you will need to figure out how to wire it correctly. If both hot wires have power, the fans will actually slow down, not speed up. You will have to figure out how to kill the low speed wire when the high speed wire gets power.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you get. I saw a 2mpg increase when I put my plywood cover on. you shouldn't have any trouble getting 18mpg as long as you keep it under 65, I pulled 18.3 with my big ass truck and 4.10s lol
