I over explained that with the thread title. Nothing wrong with simple wiring. Use the fuse. No "smoke testing" of live circuits allowed. When fog light makers use colors such as white and black coming out of the light, better to err on the side of caution (use a fuse at the battery) than have a 6 foot glowing hot wire melting thru the engine bay of possibly your only way to work. Next week, I'll discuss how to diode isolate door triggers on 4 door vehicles with a GEM for an alarm/remote start installation.
