Over the past couple of weeks, I've been building a custom pre runner bar in my shop class at school. It cost me about $50 to build and then I threw some Hella 500s on it. I also used Rustelum Spray on bedliner to paint it. Its not prefect yet, its a little crooked but thats because im bumper is also crooked (Im going to be getting a new bumper soon). It also sticks out a little far from the truck, but when I take it off to put the new bumper on, I'll put some spacers on the bolts. Anyways pics: This was after a couple days of Bending the pipes and starting to weld Then a couple days later Then it took me a week or so to get the mounting bracket to fit right and somewhat snug, so i got it mounted to the truck and it looked like crap So I cut down the sides so they didn't stick out as far, and capped each end and added light tabs. Then I sprayed it with 2 1/2 coats of bedliner and got it mounted loosely Then threw the hellas on it YOu can kinda tell from this pic that it sticks out a little far, but Im going to try to get it to sit flush with the bumper and this one you can tell its crooked with my bumper But overall, Im -pretty happy with it. I'd much rather spend $50 and build a decent one then pay $200 plus for a nice one. Let me know what you guys think!
looks good, does your shop have a oxy acetelyne torch? you could have used that to heat up the pipe to bend it to fit your bumper a little better that's what i'm using for my lightbar
Thanks. Yes we do, but we also have a nuematic pipe bender to so i used that and just kinda would bend it, take it over to the truck, and see if i needed to bend it a little more Thanks! I think one would look good on your truck!
Thanks dude, and ya, when i put it on i was like great, i just wasted $50 bucks and a week and a half of my time haha Thanks! Thank!
