Hello all, new to the forums and hoping to learn more about my 1997 F150.

Hopefully this hasn't been answered before, but I didn't see it anywhere. If it has, I apologize.

First off, the truck is a 1997 F150, 4x4, SuperCab, and I am fairly certain the torsion keys have been cranked, but I'm not 100%. The front is pretty level with the rear though.

I already have some Akuza 359 17" wheels, which I believe are a 4.25" backspacing. Theres not much info on them out there. It is time for new tires, and I am hoping to fit 33x12.5s on. They should fit height wise, but I am worried about the width. The tire sidewall (265/70/17 tires) is pretty close to the end of the upper control arm as it is. Does anyone know if the 33x12.5s will fit?

And of course a picture of the truck.

33s fit without a problem. but if you put fairly big loads on your trucki would recomend not getting that wide of tire. if you have a 265/70 that comes out to about 10.5 inches and i would bet those rims are only 8 inches maybe 9 inches wide. so if you stick on a 12.5 you wont be able to get all the load capabilities off your tires

first of all, nice truck. second make sure your t-bars are cranked and then you will fit 33's just fine. i am running them right now and they work great.

Yes they are 8 inch wide wheels. The truck will almost never have much load on it in the summer, there will be firewood in the back every now and then, and it will be pulling a jet ski. The only time it has much of a load is in winter, when it will be on it's winter wheels and tires.

What makes it so that you don't get all the load capabilites of your tire when using a narrower wheel?

I know the 285s will fit fine, but they are my second choice, as I want the widest tire I can fit on these wheels without rubbing.

And thank you all for the compliments on the truck.
