its not recommended because you arent allowing the system to work properly. by jumping the clutch to simply engage the compressor, you arent allowing the system to work w/ the hi/lo sides and actually keep the compressor at the temperature desired. If i run on Max AC, w/ the coldest blowing, fan 1, I will eventually lose air pressure as the compressor has just chilled my AC lines shut w/ ice. If I disengage the clutch, but keep the AC settings untouched, air flow is increased, eventually turning to hot air. 3 times i have also had a "blow-off" of freon, but from where I don't know as we don't have B/O valves anywhere on the system. If you find out more, lemme know. If you wanna jump yours, I can show you exactly where I spliced mine. Just lemme know either way.

mine works because i bypassed the power and jumped the clutch from a toggle switch. highly not recommended. i believe the fix is a flash from ford, roughly 1-1.5hrs time. I have yet to get this as mine works, not 100% correctly, but its always cold. the new cluster doesn't fully see your complete system so the flash resolves that.

Dont know if you have looked at the Flex thread again but I am only running a 2.5" leveling kit with the 35s, and tucking em, no cutting of anything to do it eather

lol go for the install. i'll be keeping the truck for a while it seems. might try to do a 4wd conversion next year, and if that works, get a paint job and she's a brand new truck ya know? lemme know if you need help on that cluster or anything... like always i'm here to help. gonna try that homelink hookup tomorrow...
