i figured i'd post this here, not sure where else so i've had this idea in the past and since spring break is coming up thought i'd put it in action, since we hang out in the truck's bed alot, i'm thinking of mounting 4 speakers in the bed, i already have 4 oem speakers just laying around, but to avoid adding an amp, i'd like to be able to switch the sound from the cab to the bed, so i'm thinking of something like this speaker switch now this should work with car speakers even though its for home audio right? speakers are speakers, is there any way i could do this cheaper or does anyone have any other thoughts on how to switch the power between the speakers
that could work. however, i'm not so sure about using regular speakers for your bed. You'll have to shield them from the elements, or they'll be toast in the first rain storm or so. Why not find a set of outdoor speakers cheap, and then run that system?
There's some decent sounding outdoor speakers out too. That way there's no worries about rain and the elements destroying the speakers. You could buy a bunch of these and always look like you're hauling a load of rocks!
i have a tonneau cover that seals up pretty good, i need it to protect the awesome carpet in the back, haha, i would probly mount them inside pvc like they do with atv stereos another thought i just had too, rather then spending $60 on two switches, i may eliminate the 5x7s in the back wall of the cab and put two 6x9s in boxes behind the seat and leave a couple feet of slack in the wires, then when we need them just pull them out from behind the seat and stick them through the sliding window and put them on the toolbox, it would improve the sound in the cab and could be able to point the speakers in any direction outside
those are awesome speakers. Long time ago before I left home we had a pool and deck on the back of the house. I wired a set of those up. Nick I would still go with a set of outdoor speakers just to be safe.
Please no pvc. Fiberglass your on box or build one from mdf. Its easy! Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
