Well guys as yall know, im always complainin about no power. Thus why I want to build an lsx mustang. But I would truly rather build the green truck up with turbo, but my whole reasoning behind this lsx idea is that the car would be more fun and cheaper to build. The way I figured it, by the time I had my truck where I wanted it power wise, I would have 3000 in the tranny (not sure on darrin burch's tranny prices), 1000 in forged internals (used), and 3000 or so in the turbo. This is what I'd love, but that's 7000, and with that, im pretty sure I could build a mustang that would be way more fun. I just dont know what to do, truly. Maybe 1500 for a fox gt, then 1000 in suspension, 1000 in motor, 500 in tranny, then other misc stuff, but im still prolly lookin around 7 grand. Hmmm.. Decisions decisions. If you really want more power trade for a newer 3v 5.4L F150. Your engine only has 231hp and 293lb-ft of torque compared to an 04-08 5.4L has 300hp and 365lb-ft. Right there you'll gain a ton of power along with having a never truck rather than dumping a ton of money into an old truck with 200,000+ miles on it. I'd do that before even thinking about doing a $5000 turbo system.
