im looking to upgrade my exhaust. i currently have a catback single into dual, magnaflow. it just not quite loud enough for me. im not sure if cutting off the cat is the way to go or a totally different muff, bigger tubing? of course straight pipe but thats a little too loud and harsh for my liking. what r some of u running and any help is appreciated. thanks
Get 2 Magnaflow Hi Flow cats to replace your stock cats for louder sound, either that or long tube headers. Both will greatly increase sound and long tubes will improve hp/tq
You could always change the muffler out for something louder then a Magnaflow. They're not usually known as "loud" mufflers to begin with. If you're looking for noise then the Flowmaster Super line of mufflers may be something you want to look into. Possibly a Super 40 or Super 44 from Flowmaster will give you the growl you're after.
Magnapack 4"x14" round mufflers roar tho. This kid who lives near me up at college has a 5.4L Raptor that sounds amazing when he gets on it. Not that loud at idle tho
Hi-Flo cats will help out a lot. Headers are worth it if you have the money for them. Otherwise the Cherrybomb Extreme muffler or Flowmaster Super 10 are both pretty loud
I have Dynatech long tube headers, Magnaflow Hi-flow cats, x-pipe, and a Magnaflow 12568 muffler. I could not be happier! No drone, not to loud at idle and just a hint of rumble at speed. But hit and omg she comes to life.
i'm runnin Gibson high flow Headers, stock cats, stock Y into FM Super 44 SI/DO, 2.5" pipe w/ 16" long 3.5" tips. its quiet as can be, until you're foots in the floor and your shakin the earth. i leave for work @ 530a and never have had a neighbor complain when I start her up. I'll be swapping out the factory cats and stock y, replacing w/ high flow cats, and true dual, w/ a 60^ dump just after the cab sometime at the beginning of the year.
