First off, I don't have pics there wasn't any body damage to my truck, and I'm not sure how bad the Durango got it. I was driving home from dinner with the g/f in a 5 lane section of town going 45 with everyone else. There was a semi with an oversize loader and 2 pilot cars ahead in the outside lane and I was coming up on the inside lane. I see the pilot car put his signal on to come over so I slow down a little to let them in. A woman in a silver Durango next to me and behind the pilot car decided that she didn't want to be behind them anymore and started merging over. To be fair, my front bumper was about even with her driver door, so without looking in her mirrors, I was invisible So she starts coming over and I can't do anything because of people in the turn lane and people backed up behind me, then I feel her hit... I look at her passenger door and its covered in black, I was thinking from my rhinolined bumper. My passenger mirror got folded in, but that was it. I didn't think I had any serious damage, but we write down the license and where/what/when happened and pull over a little down the road. She kept on driving, so idk if she is going to file a report or not... No damage to my truck anywhere! The bumper wasn't even touched! The black on her door was from my 33x11.5 Toyo rubbin up on here I bet thats going to be a ***** to clean! Hopefully she learned to check her mirrors before switching lanes now.
This is why men say women can't drive. Its the ones like her that give the ones like me a bad name. At least your truck was ok I don't know how it is in AK but here in FL if someone gets hit from behind its always the person in the backs fault, no matter the situation. If its like that by you hopefully she wont file a report.
Its the same here, but I wasn't going to slam on my brakes to let an idiot in and screw over the people behind me. Its amazing how many times people start merging without looking, this is the first time I've made contact, but there have been quite a few close ones
man, seein all that rubber on a side of a vehicle is hilarious aint it? i got side swiped just over a month ago, but it wasnt an suv, but a small elantra. he had 35" swirl marks from bumper to bumper, and bottom of door to window sill bet he uses his mirrors now.
i would've done the same thing, people do that all the time here its nothing new. Haha vano thats hilarious, I'm sure when the guy did look over he thought he was going to end up under those 35s lol
There is a clause to someone hitting you in the rear. If your brake lights do not work and they hit you, it's your fault.
As long as you can prove their brakelights didn't work, which in most cases after you've smashed into the back of em is hard to do. This also applies to all tinted taillights. You can be held at fault if your lights are tinted too dark. Don't believe me, just do some research on the internet. Not to mention I know a guy that got sued by the guy that hit him. The guy I know lost the case and the ended up having to pay damages on the guy's car that hit him.
actually, i thought he almost rolled me. i was going straight, he was comin in at an angle, and we were goin atleast 40. i swear my back right tire came completely off the ground. and i doubt he looked over... seemed drunk when i talked to him. and as i got back into my truck to get his plate, he burnt off in reverse back onto the main street. no way i could u-turn my pig. he was gone... bastard.
after reading this title i was just shocked that there were two people on the same road in alaska. glad your truck was alright, oversized tires ftw!!!
