Hey guys, I am sure many if not all of you know about Gotts Mod for your truck. I did mine a long time ago and found my install pictures and searched the forum and did not find a actual thread on it so decided to do a simple write-up for those of you who don't have it.

What is Gotts Mod? (My theory):
Gotts mod is a simple modification of replacing your stock intake without having to spend $300. The diameter of the stock nozzle of your intake is 1.5". When you replace it with the 3" PVC you are getting an extra 1.5" in diameter of air. I believe that Gotts mod is worth it because its very inexpensive and its what I like to call a TRUE COLDAIR INTAKE. If you think about it for a minute, you get a aftermarket cold air intake....theres nothing cold about it...you suck in engine heat. Gotts allows the 3" PVC to stay in the fender well and receive outside air.

    Materials:
13inches of 3" PVC sewer pipe
    4" to 3" rubber connector
    Sandpaper
    Flatblack spray paint

    Cost:
    $10-$15

    1. You need to unhook the negative side of your battery. This allows your computer to be reset which normally takes 15min, but leave it unhooked while you are doing your installation and when your done, your done.

    2. Pull your intake housing off the throttle body and pull the nozzle out of the fender well. After this is done, remove your nozzle from the housing.
(Make require a flathead screwdriver to get apart. This will be difficult.)

    3. Go ahead and sand down your PVC pipe very lightly and spray paint.

    4. Once dry, place your PVC into the hole in your fender well. (This will be a snug fit)

    5. Attach your 4" to 3" connector to your housing.

    6. Once attached and tightened, insert the connector over the PVC. Then tighten to PVC.
( You will have to push the connector very close to the hole of the fender to attach housing back to throttle body!!!)

    7. Reconnect your negative lead to your battery and your done!
