im confused

    so i got a head scratch er for you fellows my caliper mounting brackets bolts keep on backing them selves out.the spindle nut is also backing its self out on the drivers side 2003 super crew 170,000 miles 4,6



    and i know i snugged them real good. there something vibrating the piss out of the driver side cause that's the only way it would back out

    That's very unusual. Are you sure you are snugging it enough? I usually snug it enough then go another quarter of a turn to be sure. If not gets some lock tight :jester: jk

    does the spindle nut not have a castle nut and cotter pin?

    i had that problem with the caliper bracket on my old truck .... i ended up lock tighten them and never had any more trouble ....

    and for the spindle nut , as zuk said , it shud be a castle nut and a cotter pin

    and if your going to use lock tite use the blue otherwise you will never break them loose.

    do not use locktite on your spindle nut!!!!! just get a new cotter pin.....
